This month is about the people who make our paths possible. |
In October, Creamos turned 18. In many places, that's the age when a young person steps into adulthood: a moment to reflect on everyone who helped them get there, and to look forward to what comes next.
That feels fitting for this season. Our final-year high school students have completed their seminar projects and are approaching graduation. And on November 1st and 2nd, families across Guatemala gathered to remember and honor the loved ones who came before them, with flowers, music, and kites that carry their memory skyward.
Each of these moments carries the same truth: none of us arrives anywhere alone. We stand on the work of those who built the path before us, and we are responsible for keeping it open for those who come after. Thank you for being part of that path. Con gratitud, The Creamos Team |

Think of someone who is no longer with you, or someone whose care shaped who you are today. What did they teach you that you still carry? Breathe in with gratitude for those who made your path possible. Breathe out with a hope that we pass that care on to those who come next. |

Final-Year Students, One Step Closer to Graduation
For their seminar project, final-year students worked in groups to propose solutions to a human rights issue they see in their own communities. With the seminar complete, these high school students are one step closer to graduation. This week, on November 6th and 8th, 25 students — 18 women and 7 men — will graduate with their high school diploma! Congratulations on this achievement!
Watch the highlight video to see students share what they learned and what they discovered they're capable of. |

Remembering Our Loved Ones
November 1st and 2nd — All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day — are important days in Guatemala for remembering and honoring loved ones who have passed away. Families typically flock to the cemeteries to visit them, adorn their graves with flowers and sweets, play traditional music, and fly paper kites as a symbol of connection between the living and the dead.
In keeping with this tradition, Creamos hosted an activity last week for participants to honor their loved ones by placing their photos on our shared altar. Participants also took part in face painting, kite-making, and marshmallow-decorating, and reflected on what these days mean to each of them, creating a space where both remembrance and joy can coexist. |

Celebrating 18 Years of Creamos
This year, Creamos celebrated its 18th anniversary. The ultimate goal of any organization working to solve social issues is to one day no longer be needed. Until that day comes, we take this milestone to honor the years of hard work, growth, and accomplishment that have brought us to where we are today: providing high-quality services and accompaniment to nearly 600 participants each year. |

La Colectiva — Creamos' community of recurring donors — is a group of supporters who believe in participants' capacity for growth and change, and who trust that small gifts over time, joined with many others, can create something none of us could build alone. We invite you to join La Colectiva and make a monthly gift to Creamos.
Think of it like a monthly cup of coffee, or a streaming subscription — only, so much more impactful. |
